Charnwood Arts NCKU Internship programme 2014-2019

This book provides an insight into some of the activities and outcomes of the relationship between Charnwood Arts (UK) and the National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Taiwan. The book was designed by the 2019 interns and highlights the journeys and accomplishments of all of the interns who have participated in the programme over the past six years.  Funded by the Taiwanese Ministry of Education and National Cheng Kung University, the programme was initiated by Professor Ming Turner of NCKU and Kevin Ryan of Charnwood Arts.

Loughborough Market

This book, originally created in 2015, depicts the dynamism of Loughborough Market, which serves people from the town Loughborough and its surrounding villages in north Leicestershire. The book has been created by interns from National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan and the text was written by Terry Allen from Charnwood Arts in 2002 for the original People Making Places project.

In 2016 Charnwood Arts held its third summer academic student internship from the Taiwanese National Cheng Kung University. The group of MA students worked with a range of artists whilst they were here including some joint work with Leicester based artist Ashok Mistry. The relationship between Charnwood Arts, Ashok and the students grew into a set of proposals for a project that would combine the building of an ever changing exhibition space and a workshop programme that encompassed a number of different artforms.
