For The Fallen is a book produced by members of the Charnwood Great War Centenary Project as part of a three year project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. It charts the progression of the war against the loss of Loughborough men who are remembered on two local church memorials.
The book starts by contextualising World War in general and then goes on to explain the impact of the war on aspects of life Charnwood whilst examines the contribution of individuals from the locality. The book highlights the memorials in the two churches in Loughborough, the battles local regiments were involved in, whilst also turning the spotlight on some of the local soldiers who fought. The book examines the effect on and contribution of women who took on traditionally male roles on the home front.
