A look at the special Armistice Edition of the book created to commemorate World War One in Charnwood

After the great success of the original publication a further edition was created that provided a local context to the great war by exploring the town, its inhabitants, the build up and aftermath of the war.  Over 2000 copies were given away to local inhabitants and history enthusiasts. The edition was created to commemorate the centenary of the Armistice of 1918.

The book starts by contextualising the war by providing maps and then goes on to detail the backgrounds, heroism and sacrifice of some of the soldiers who traveled from Charnwood to fight on the front lines.
