The 37th annual Picnic in the Park event organised by Charnwood Arts

The sun shone on the righteous this year as Picnic in the Park celebrated its 37th year!

Charnwood Arts began this event with Rosebery Arts as a three day event back in 1980 and many hundreds of artists have graced Loughborough's beautiful Queen's Park since that date, including parades and performances in the town.

This year Charnwood Arts welcomed back old favourites as well as a host of new acts and performances. We are deeply endebted to our partners EMCCAN for bringing the fantastically colourful dances of Brazil and the Ancestors group to his year's Picnic. Add up and coming musicians, the hilarious antics of Maynard Flip Flap and one of the fastest speed painters the universe has ever seen, Morris dancers, a great book give-away and a park full of stalls and all in all it was a great day out for local families and friends!

Listen to the wonderful music of Mark Elliot through his website below, performing at his second Picnic in the Park.
