An exhibition by Charnwood Arts access groups RawArt and CorporArt Members

RawArt and CorporArt are two groups developed by Charnwood Arts to engage with people who might not otherwise have access to arts based experiences and activities and who have had or have some form of illness or difficulty related to their mental health and/or social isolation.

Tea with Alice was an exhibition focused project incorporating self-portraits, still life, illustration and abstract 2D works and 3 dimensional work and installations. The project ran over six months and explored themes from the book Alice in Wonderland, participants watched the film and visited the work of other artists. The book, which can be accessed on ISSUU through the link below, was produced in 2014.

The groups (CorporArt) finished in September 2013 - were designed to provide a safe and nurturing creative space for participants - people who often find themselves out of mainstream provision. The work people produce thrpugh these sessions is intrinsically therapeutic and is not part of any diagnostic or treatment regime. It is participants opportunity to express themselves creatively through a range of materials and apporoaches that suit them. Each person developing at their own pace. RawArt still meets at our ArtsHouse facility on Granby Street in Loughborough.

Several participants have work portfolios on the 'Outside In' website and three were invited to the House of Lords in connection with the 'Safe Inside Safe Outside - rethinkyourmind Yellow Book' . Two artists also took part in national and regional exhibitions in 2013 through 'Outside In'.
