Members:
Helen O'Connell - Steve Hall - Tony Dugan
Topic:
An East Midlands based band with strong connections to Loughborough and Charnwood where lead singer Tony Dugan has lived and taught for many years.

Kelly's Heroes have flexible line-up from a three-piece band up to a five-piece band. In addition, when playing for Ceilidhs and Barn Dances, they always bring along a caller who works wonders at getting people involved traditional dances.

The band play festivals, folk clubs, pubs and clubs as well as private functions including weddings and they have played internationally to great acclaim. They have worked with us at Charnwood Arts on a number of occasions including on the same bill as the infamous Dr Palfi, as part of our previous village arts programmes and at the Charnie Arnie marquee at Glastonbudget.

The richness provided by the accordion, powerful rhythm guitar, bodhran and Tony's voice give a fullness of sound that belies the number of people on stage.

Their repertoire encompasses fast and furious Celtic songs and tunes, gentle ballads and more contemporary numbers by the likes of Christy Moore, Eric Bogle and Ewan MacColl as well as some original material,. With gigs spanning the length and breadth of the country, Kellys Heroes have a workload which proves their broad popularity! They also have a number of CD's published through Celteire Music.
