Heart of 3 Cities 2014

The Heart of 3 Cities newspaper is an annual publication from Charnwood Arts that highlights a variety of arts and cultural events for the coming summer season along with arts related news stories from the local area. Serving the entirety of Charnwood, Heart of 3 Cities is designed to link people to creative events and projects taking place in the locality whilst celebrating Charnwood’s unique location between and relationship with the cities of Leicester, Nottingham and Derby in the East Midlands. 

Jacqui Gallon- Soulangh Cultural Park Residency 2020

Earlier this year I visited Taiwan to take part in a cultural exhange programme initiated by Kev Ryan of Charnwood Arts, Soulangh Cultural Park and Professor Ming Turner of National Cheng Kung University, Tainan.

Charnwood Arts NCKU Internship programme 2014-2019

This book provides an insight into some of the activities and outcomes of the relationship between Charnwood Arts (UK) and the National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Taiwan. The book was designed by the 2019 interns and highlights the journeys and accomplishments of all of the interns who have participated in the programme over the past six years.  Funded by the Taiwanese Ministry of Education and National Cheng Kung University, the programme was initiated by Professor Ming Turner of NCKU and Kevin Ryan of Charnwood Arts.

Loughborough Market

This book, originally created in 2015, depicts the dynamism of Loughborough Market, which serves people from the town Loughborough and its surrounding villages in north Leicestershire. The book has been created by interns from National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan and the text was written by Terry Allen from Charnwood Arts in 2002 for the original People Making Places project.   

Newtown Linford

This book, originally created in 2015, depicts a portrait of the village of Newtown Linford, which is located just northwest of the city of Leicester in Leicestershire. The book has been created by interns from National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan and the text was written by Terry Allen from Charnwood Arts in 2002 for the original People Making Places project.   

Rangoli Magazine #2

The Rangoli magazine was developed to expand the work of the Charnwood Arts’ Kala Kahani project that aimed to “chronicle unique journeys and bring light to underexposed, raw South Asain Talent”.

Published in Spring 2009, this edition of Rangoli brings forth an even bigger crop of festivals, artist and writers originating from South Asia or exploring south Asain themes. This edition starts with a quote from Albert Einstein  ‘Your Imagination is your preview of life’s coming attractions”.

Suffragettes in Loughborough-Pamphlet

This pamphlet delves into the detailed history of the suffragette movement in Loughborough.  The fight for suffrage is normally seen through the lens of events in major cities such as London, however, this project and the pamphlet emanating from it throws light on the bigger picture of the fight for suffrage.  Through painstaking research led by Mike Shuker and contributions from many other dedicated researchers and historians, a vivid picture of the contribution to suffrage by people in Loughborough.

August 2017 UK – France

Artslink international is an occasional series of arts and cultural magazines produced by participants and collaborators with Charnwood Arts.  The magazines both reflect and initiate new connections between Charnwood, Leicester(shire) and other locations around the globe.
